The Studio
Fire Lily Studio is an independent animation studio based in the UK dedicated to environmental and wildlife storytelling. Our name is inspired by the fire lily — a flower that lies dormant for years but springs to life after a forest fire, leading the way for an ecosystem to regenerate.
Mirroring this symbol of hope, we use hand-drawn and handmade art to bring urgent issues like biodiversity, animal welfare, and climate justice to life. In a time when environmental doomerism is rife, we choose to foster curiosity and determination, using the unique power of animation to depict solutions, challenge the status quo, and visualize a wilder, more ecologically-just world.
Our films have reached millions of viewers worldwide and helped generate thousands of petition signatures. We believe that effective transformation happens when we connect with incredible change-making organisations, turning what seems impossible in our current world into a tangible, shared path forward.
Each film is made to stay with people long after they’ve watched it.
With every frame, we animate a greener future.

Who brings the stories to life
Ben
Founder & Director
Growing up in the English countryside
gave Ben a lifelong love for wildlife that completely shapes his work.
He is our animator who brings our visual worlds to life, and his true gift lies in capturing the deep, emotional expressions of animals with rare sensitivity and warmth.
When he isn’t at his desk drawing, he is almost always out in the woods, looking for birds to add to his birdwatching list, or at home creating and recording music.
Ben believes that every being has a soul
and deserves respect, love and care.
Gabi
Director & Producer
From Brazil with a background in journalism,
Gabi shapes our films to ensure they tell powerful stories that truly connect with people.
She is our animator with a close eye for detail who ensure our projects run smoothly from start to finish.
When she isn’t animating, you’ll find her hiking or walking out in nature, spending hours simply admiring tree canopies, old willow trees, and wildflowers.
Gabi believes there is a story waiting in every corner and poetry moving through every breeze - if we just take the time to look carefully.
How we create

The Brief
We start with your goals and the cause you're fighting for. Together we build the narrative (writing the story ourselves or shaping your ideas), guided by the references, style, and characters you bring to the table.

The Storyboard

Your story takes shape frame by frame. We map out movement, camera angles, and rhythm, so you can see and feel the film before a single frame is animated.

The Animation
The heart of the process. Every frame is hand-drawn, one by one. This is where most of the time goes and where the film truly comes alive.

The Composition
Bespoke sound, music, and effects come together with the animation, tying every element into one finished film.
